Team MA runs past Team VT in five innings

Team VT watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 10-0 loss to Team MA on Wednesday. Team MA scored on a single by Ford McCarthy in the first inning.

Team MA took an early lead in the first inning. McCarthy singled on the first pitch of the at bat in the first inning, scoring one run.

Team MA scored three runs in the fifth inning. Team MA’s big inning was driven by a double by McCarthy, a triple by Elias Brendel, and a walk.

One bright spot for Team VT was a double by Landon Kingsbury in the second inning.

Kaidan Sheehan earned the win for Team MA. He threw two and two-thirds innings, giving up zero runs, three hits, and striking out four. Two relievers helped Team MA close out the victory. Grayson McCarthy threw one and one-third innings. Jacob Putnam took the loss for Team VT. He pitched one inning, allowing three runs, three hits, and walking zero.

Ryan Walker, Will Eaton, Kingsbury, and Kris Fennimore all had one hit to lead Team VT.

Team MA had 15 hits in the game. F. McCarthy, Ty Ford, Brendel, Sheehan, and G. McCarthy each collected multiple hits for Team MA. Team MA was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Alex Cantwell made the most plays with eight.
