Team RI left the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth of a 5-3 defeat to Team CT on Wednesday. With one run in, and three runners on, Nicholas Maynard struck out the last two RI hitters to clinch the victory.
The game was tied at two with Team CT batting in the top of the fourth when Maynard singled off of Cullen Crain, driving in one run.
Team RI took an early lead in the first inning. Mason Crain doubled on a 0-2 count in the first inning, scoring two runs.
In the top of the second inning, Team CT tied things up at two. An error scored two runs for Team CT.
Team CT took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Chase Geremia doubled off of Cullen Crain, driving in two runs.
Alexander Anderson led Team RI with two hits in four at bats.
Christian Kells went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Team CT in hits. Team CT didn’t commit a single error in the field. Paul Calandrelli had ten chances in the field, the most on the team.
